The war in Ukraine keeps grinding on, with both sides hitting energy targets. Over the weekend Russia attacked Kyiv for a third night in a row, killing at least one person and injuring several more as air defences roared over the capital. Ukraine answered by targeting Russian infrastructure. A drone strike set an oil depot on fire in Russia's Krasnodar region on Monday, two days after Ukrainian forces reportedly hit the Ilsky refinery in the same area.
Kyiv's general staff also said it struck a defense plant that makes missile components. Meanwhile, President Zelensky said Washington agreed to let Ukraine produce its own Patriot interceptors, though experts warn that will take years and does not fix today's shortage. Zelensky also claimed Russia lost more than 10,000 troops killed or wounded this week as Ukrainian units push forward near Lyman. Those figures cannot be verified independently, so read them very cautiously.
